this photo describes the privatization/rule of living in the modern day life, closing out the public and limiting it to those who can afford it.
Theoretical
My photograph is theoretical because the light patterns in the night sky and the=natural arch to create a imagined, conceptual feel rather than a realistic photo of this arch.
Multimodal Presentation
Synopsis
This presentation is about the work of Vincent D. Feldman. Mainly his City Abandoned book about the abandoned buildings in Philadelphia. Most of his work I find to be ethically evaluative because of what the abandoned buildings stand for and what their purpose is even though they are abandoned. He has travelled all around to depict the meaning and evolution of architecture but his most prominent work is the City Abandoned Project. He captures the empty abandnoned emption with black and white coloring and very little human evidence surrounding those buildings.
New Perspective
Vincent Feldman's work helped me understand that buildings aren't just 50 foot tall structures have multiple levels to them. They have actual purpose and symbolism, they mean something to different people around a community. This has given me the opportunity to look under the surface of a photo and see if a photo may have an underlying meaning, message, or lesson for the viewer. When a photo was taken, unless it was a photo that had shown a physical message along with, I thought it was just to display the world around you on the surface. However, with Feldman's work, I see now that one has to look deeper than the surface when it comes to the world around them.
